JAKE LANGLEY HOBBS

Nicknamed Lang, Jake is a very different angler and leads a very exciting life. 
Having become fed up with the UK for several years, he needed a complete life change. He wanted to undertake a challenge of mammoth proportions. Jake wanted to do what no man had ever done before. Consequently, along with his beloved Doberman dogs, Charley and Flash, Jake went carp fishing…for five years!
His quest began on the jaw-dropping Cassien in France and from then has visited many venues across Europe, including Italy and Germany with many more planned.
Jake has landed some monster carp on this magical adventure; with literally too many to list. However, highlights so far have to be a fish over 60lb from Danny Fairbrass’ Gigantica, several of the old, wily specimens that reside in Cassien and he even caught one on New Years Day from this historic venue.
His main strength as an angler has to be stalking, even on huge, windswept waters. He uses several rigs that suit the correct situation but at the moment his favourites have to be the blowback rig and the 360-degree pop-up presentation.
Jake believes that the best thing about carp fishing is meeting new people, fishing new waters and catching a carp from a new country. Oh yeah, and he finds it magical watching the sun rise with a cup of tea in his hands.
