BAITING UP
Yes we know it's a bit of a shift off of the rig bits that we specialise in, but baiting up is without doubt more important than the rig you have on the end. Getting fish feeding confidently is THE key to consistent catching. If they are not feeding, even a Korda hook will not catch them - hard to believe I know but true all the same!
The Eazi Stik has been out for a while now and continues to rule the roost when it comes to throwing sticks, so much so that a so called giant of the carp fishing world and an 'innovator' (ha ha) copied it exactly, yet we have still sold more than ever.
Years ago I can remember slating my friend Andy Murray for being so reliant on the spod. We called him a one-trick pony, but after several years of relying heavily on spodding myself I have to say he was right. I consider it to be THE way to bait up.
After several years of intense, long-range spodding myself with what can only be described as shoddy kit, I set about designing my own spod based on what I knew would make the job easier. In other words, a design that created better accuracy with greater distance. The Skyliner Spod was the result of literally thousands of hours of spodding and it became the best seller in almost every shop in the land.
Now, with spodding part of everyone’s armoury, Korda has been busy innovating more spods to suit every occasion. The Skyliner MK2 was born, which is basically an improved MK1, eradicating the front flights for better stabilization and featuring the stiffer, easier to use connections. Since then, a smaller Mini Skyliner has been released for quieter spodding on smaller waters and the Skyraider, which is literally ‘the daddy’ of all spods – allowing monster, accurate casts on huge, windswept waters.
