RIP SHOULDERS

Following the sad death of the much-loved Shoulders, Horton head bailiff Del Smith (not in the picture) commented on the passing of a fish he was so close to.

This is what he told us: “Shoulders was a well-loved part of the Church Lake. One of the old Yeoveney fish, he was between 45 and 50 years old. He reached a top weight of 45lb 13oz and was one of the much sought-after target fish for the anglers that came to fish the Church Lake. He was one of the venue’s real characters.

A bit of a loner, he could usually be found on a hot summer’s day doing circuits of the lake. A fish of that calibre and history will be a great loss. However, some of his old mates are still growing well. With fish such as No-Name now close to, or breaking, the 40lb barrier, the future is bright at Horton.”

RIP big girl!

Take a look at her in all her glory as she is displayed in the picture by Team Korda's Garth Ethelston.
