How To Tie The Snowman Rig

A true big carp catcher! The Snowman is a favourite across the continent and are highly versatile by being able to be used with any lead set-up, and with just about any length or type of hooklink material. Snowman comes from the hookbait - by pairing a bottom bait with a smaller sized pop-up gives the look of a snowman on your hair.

You will need:

N-Trap Soft

Wide Gape Hook

Hair Stop

Medium Shrink Tube

Baiting Needle

Razorblade Scissors

Step 1

Start by pulling off your desired length of N-Trap Soft of your spool

A long length will ensure you don't run short

Step 2

Take your scissors and cut!

Step 3

Mount your chosen hookbait onto your needle

18mm suits a 12mm Pop-Up / 15mm will suit a 10mm

Step 4

Strip back a section of coating, form a hair, tie a knotless knot and mount your hookbait

You can secure your hair to your shank with a simple overhand knot

Step 5

Next, cut off a section of Medium Shrink Tube

Step 6

Pass your Shrink down your hooklink, over your Knotless Knot

Step 7

Ensuring it sits at this position ahead of steaming

Step 8

Either steam or drop your rig into your kettle to shrink down

Step 9

While hot, form an agressive angle in the Shrink Tube

This will help with make the hook turn and flip quicker!

Step 10

Your rig is complete, ready to be attached to your chosen lead arrangement
