Elliott Gray's Kontinental Rig (Print)

STEP 1

These are the components needed to tie Elliott's no-tangle, Kontinental rig.

STEP 2

Start by pulling off 16 inches of Hybrid Stiff material.

STEP 3

Without stripping any coating, tie your Kontinental hook onto the Hybrid Stiff, using a six-turn knotless knot.

STEP 4

Slide a Hook Ring Swivel onto the tag that would usually form the hair.

STEP 5

Pop the tag back through the eye, trapping the swivel in place.

STEP 6

Blob the tag with a lighter.

STEP 7

This is how your D-rig arrangement should look.

STEP 8

Now thread a Krimp onto the other end of the link, setting it at around eight inches.

STEP 9

Carefully, yet forcefully, squeeze the Krimp down to set a loop in the end of the link.

STEP 10

Thread some bait floss through the top eye of the Hook Ring Swivel.

STEP 11

Now thread on a wafter hook bait.

STEP 12

Use the floss to pull the Hook Ring Swivel into the bait, so it sits like this.

STEP 13

Trim the floss off, leaving an excess.

STEP 14

Blob the floss down and squash the melted blob against the bait.

STEP 15

The blob will hold the bait in place on the cast. The rig is now finished.
