Blowback Rig (Print)
These are the components that you need to tie the line aligner blowback rig.
Strip back six inches of N-Trap Soft coating.
Now tie a hair loop using an overhand knot.
Mount your hook bait and secure it with a hair stop.
Tie a rig ring to the flexible section using an overhand knot, 2cm below the bait.
This is how the ring should sit, projecting out at 90 degrees to the link when tight.
Thread on your chosen hook. In this instance, we're using a Kaptor Wide Gape.
Slide the rig ring over the point of the hook, like this.
Now whip the hook in place using a knotless knot. Note where the ring is positioned.
Snip off 2cm of shrink tubing.
This is key, pierce the tubing with a needle, going through the wall from outside to in.
Grab the coated end of the hook link and pull it down through the tubing.
Note how the link projects through the wall of the tubing.
Push the shrink tubing up and onto the eye of the hook, so it sits like this.
Shrink the tubing down and as it cools, set this angle into it.
That's the awesome blowback rig - a very hard presentation for the carp to eject!
