TELESALES - IAN BAILEY

Ian Bailey, Tel as he’s lovingly known due to his tarty Terry Hearn lookalike tackle setup, works in telesales. He has been working in the trade for three and half years, after being shop manger for a tackle shop. Before that, he spent a two and half years in retail communicating with members of the public. In his teens, Ian also experienced fish farming on a part time basis, which was a great learning curve on fishery management and what’s involved in it.

Ian has been carp fishing for 16 years having grown up fishing for roach and bits on the local River Lea with his father. The carp bug bit him at a young age and having read all the articles that Terry Hearn and Rob Maylin wrote, inspired him to target huge carp. The talented Korda team that Ian works with gives him fresh ideas to go and put new things into his angling on a daily basis. He has fished around a lot of circuit waters in the south including Yateley Car Park and many more. Ian likes nothing more than spending time on tranquil waters that require a bit of a challenge. With a PB of 38lb 8oz he’s certainly caught ‘em! In his spare time Ian also enjoys other interests such as music and cars.

His main role is telesales and in this role he is responsible for taking orders, building relationships with customers and pushing Korda and Guru presence. Ian takes great pleasure in speaking to customers and people with enquires on the phone. If you want the chance to meet Ian, he can often be found working on the Korda stand at the many open days and shows that we attend each year, or on the other end of the phone.
