Jon has had the fishing bug from a young age, but it was in his early teens when he developed the carp angling bug.

In his time as a carp angler Jon has fished many of the waters in the surrounding area of his hometown of Colchester and has caught carp from some the best waters Essex has to offer.

It was at a time when the sport was evolving rapidly and "Monkey Climbers" were still considered an ideal form of bite indication that Jon started part time work in a local tackle shop.

This first step into the retail trade eventually found Jon working full time in the tackle shop and gaining responsibility for the running of the busy mail order department.

After this Jon spent many years working as a retail manager for a large supermarket chain and in doing so learnt many of the fundamental elements of shop keeping.

These include customer service, availability, merchandising, stock control, to name but a few.

Although Jon has led a demanding retail career he has maintained his passion for carp angling and always manages to squeeze in a night or twos angling.

Jon’s carp angling abilities and his in-depth retail knowledge made Jon the ideal candidate within Korda's sales team.
