The show follows the presenters as they travel the world in search of Monster Carp

We have seen our Monster Carp team travel to far-flung places such as Japan, South Africa, Thailand, and the USA, as well as waters much closer to home in Europe, and there was even an episode filmed on an iconic English lake.

Over the years the format has changed, with a mixture of different presenters in the first season – all of whom are big names in the carp fishing world – before it became the same trio of Tom Dove, Neil Spooner, and Ali Hamidi.

That all changed in 2022 with the departure of Ali, but the eighth season with just Tom and Neil proved to be just as popular as ever and saw them enjoy some truly epic adventures, with some massive carp caught as well from both public and commercial waters.

It also shows the diversity of our sport around the world and gives a flavour of the countries that they are visiting and the local culture, as well as some fishing tactics and techniques that are very alien to the way we typically fish for big carp in the UK.

It does also look at the tackle and techniques that they are using to catch at each location that they visit, but only at a basic level that the average viewer can follow.

The more detailed technical stuff can be found elsewhere amongst the content that Korda puts out online and which is aimed more at the serious carp angler.

Monster Carp certainly has no shortage of potential locations, and there is plenty more to look forward to in future shows, as the dynamic duo continue to explore further afield and search for carp of various species – such as the huge black carp which inhabit lakes in China and potentially grow to over 100kg; or traveling to the other side of the globe to experience the carp fishing that Australia has to offer and where the sport is very much in its infancy; or even journeying to remote parts of Africa where they have heard of carp being caught and where they might have to run the gauntlet with hippos and crocs whilst fishing for them!
