Yateley Thirties Brace - Josh Green

Yateley-based angler Josh Green has been targeting the stock of the historic North Lake on the west side of the Hampshire complex.

The beautiful lake has a new up-and-coming stock and Josh has already banked two of its most-sought-after residents, Murray the common and Josh’s Mirror, as reported previously on this site. Well, he’s been back among the fish again, this time banking a brace of North Lake thirties.

The 23 year old landscape gardener turned up for his 48-hour session and after looking for fish, managed to spot a big mirror jump out next to an island. He dropped into the swim and was able to find a firm silt spot in the area that the mirror had showed under 5ft of water. Josh clipped up his helicopter setup to the mark and introduced half a kilo of 20mm Sticky Baits Krill over the top.

He took a cracking 31lb mirror off the spot on the Saturday morning and then followed it up with a 32lb 8oz linear on Saturday night.

Josh’s successful setup included 20lb SUBline, size-six Wide Gapes and 15lb N-Trap Soft.

Well done Josh, keep ‘em coming…
