Myles Gibson banks his fourth 40 of the year!

Myles Gibson has been having a brilliant year so far, having recently notched up his fourth 40 of 2016, and it turned out to be a fish that he had really wanted to catch.

Myles was fishing at the tricky Dinton Black Swan lake, in Berkshire, when he managed to bank a trio of fish, including his target known as the Unit at 45lb 4oz, when a move for the final night of his session really paid off.

Up until then the trip hadn’t really gone to plan, as he revealed: “I was waiting for a big northerly wind to arrive, but it didn’t!

“I’d been putting some Sticky Baits Krill boilies into a few swims in case I needed to move, and on the last night it paid off as I decided a change was needed.

“I put out a few Spombs of Krill boilies, some particles and Krill Clusters on the areas which I had already prepped earlier in the session, and during that night and into the following morning I landed three fish, including the big mirror which I’d been after.

“I was using 20lb Carp Line main line to combat the large weedbeds, and I landed all the fish without any problems.”

Myles tempted all three fish on his own home-made fruit flavoured pop-ups, which he fished balanced so that they were slow sinking. These were presented on size 4 Wide Gape X hooks to 20lb N-Trap Soft hook links with Hybrid lead clips and Dark Matter tubing.
