Last chance to enter the 2016 Korda Carp Academy!

This is the last week that you can apply to take part in the fantastic 2016 Korda Carp Academy, with entries closing on April 30.

The annual event is open for youngsters aged 13 to 17, and if you’re one of the lucky few who is chosen to take part then you’ll get the chance to fish with some of the best carp anglers in the country and learn from them.

You will spend three days on the bank learning about all different aspects of the sport, at a venue which will soon be finalised, and all of the end tackle, bait and food that you need will be provided, thanks to the support of the various companies involved in the event.

As usual the event will be filmed, with The Big Fish Off star Ali Hamidi presenting it and covering the action from around the complex, as well as looking at the tactics being used and interviewing some of the star tutors, and last year’s event was recently screened on Sky Sports 3.

The event was set-up by Korda boss Danny Fairbrass as a way of putting something back into carp fishing and encouraging a whole new generation of anglers to get into our sport and go about it in the right way, and it culminates in a graduation ceremony and prize giving.

The event has been hugely popular in the past, which isn’t surprising given the number of PBs broken during it, including fish to well over 30lb, and what you learn will prove to be invaluable in the future.

The event will take place from Tuesday July 26 and run through to Thursday July 28, with successful applicants being notified in early May.
