Korda head North for the Northern Angling Show

With just hours until the doors open at the Northern Angling Show in Manchester this coming weekend (28/29 March), the Korda team are busy preparing for what will be one of the busiest angling events ever held in the North.

Led by The Big Fish Off presenting duo of Ali Hamidi and Dean Macey, the Korda team will be on hand all weekend, demonstrating the latest products such as the Heli-Safe, Ready Zigs, COG lead systems and new range of Kiana Goo liquids, plus they’ll be tying rigs and offering advice. Amongst those also attending will be Neil Spooner, Richard Stewart and Darrell Peck.

The show will see six new Kiana Goo products being launched too – make sure you come and see the Korda team to witness them in action for yourself. They’ll be in shops to buy from the week after the show.

However, Danny Fairbrass is unable to attend the show, and has released the following statement: “I am sorry that I am not able to attend the show as planned this weekend. I have had an emergency operation on my spine to hopefully allow my left shoulder and arm to start working properly, which has not been the case for the last two months.

“After many weeks of physio, an MRI scan identified a pro-lapsed disk, which needed reducing and fusing with a cage to keep what remains in place, hopefully I will be able to return to a full and normal life within a couple of months.

“My amazing surgeon Mr Michael Sharr is happy with the operation and such were his skills, I was home in two days. Now I have to maintain a strict regime of rehabilitation to get back to normal as soon as possible.

“I am gutted that I cannot attend the show at the weekend, I have a lot of Northern mates now to catch up with and hopefully will make some more too. I am always overwhelmed with people's response to me and my staff at the shows, the feedback you give inspires me to keep going knowing what I am doing is making a difference to people enjoying their beloved pastime.

“I hope everyone has a great time at the show, and I confirm that I will be at next year's show fighting fit! Only my own or my closest friends, my family and ill health would get in the way of my attendance at any show - I love them all and the people who visit them are everything to me.”

The show is free to under-12s and tickets are available online via www.northernanglingshow.co.uk costing £3-8.50 or on the door during the event. Car parking is also free.

Make sure you come and say hello to the Korda team if you’re attending!
