Gigantica fish are starting to wake up!

Gigantica Road Lake has been fishing well since the lake underwent some major changes this winter, with a snaggy bay having been completely blocked off.

This was an area where a lot of fish spent a lot of time and couldn’t really be fished for safely, so a bund was put in to block it off and now the fish are all in the main body of the lake and are moving around more.

Since the lake re-opened it has been fishing well, especially now it has warmed up with high teens during the days, although there are still some chilly nights, and there was also plenty of work carried out on the swims during the shutdown to make them even more comfortable.

The latest group of anglers enjoyed some great sport, landing plenty of fish including four that topped 40lb!

Pick of the catches went to Steve French who set up in a newly created swim, called The Beach, and landed 12 fish including Big Mac at 46lb 14oz plus another mirror of 43lb 2oz and a 41lb common. He kept the fish coming by changing his spots every few days and feeding regularly.

Alan Stevenson also had a good trip fishing from a swim known as Turtle Corner, landing 13 fish including a 40lb 8oz mirror known as the Hammer when he fished over Mainline Hybrid boilies and maize.

There were plenty of other multiple catches during the week as well, with plenty of nice fish to over 30lb, and it bodes very well that the lake is fishing so well this early in the season.

Some places are still available for 2016, and for more information check out: www.road.gigantica-carp.com

The main lake at Gigantica has also been throwing up a few fish as well, and Paul Warwick had a good session in Alcatraz when he landed the Spotty Leather at 53lb 12oz plus a beautiful scaly mirror of 24lb.

There are still some places available on this lake as well, and currently there are at least nine fish over 70lb to target! For info of exactly which dates are still free, check out: www.gigantica-carp.com
