Darrell Scoops Award! - Darrell Peck

Darrell Peck has scooped the coveted Angling Times Carp Angler of The Year title for 2012. An awesome campaign, even by Darrell’s dizzying standards, has seen our Kordatorial expert bank an astonishing 13 fish over 40lb, topped by a mirror of 50lb 8oz.
The award is confirmation, if we needed any, that Darrell is now at the very top of his game. His incredible season started on the banks of a publicity-shy water in search of the huge common that it holds. With that target achieved, he set out to add a rare jewel to his album. Targeting an East Anglian water, Darrell had a fish called The Client firmly in his sights. He took a run of lovely carp from the demanding venue, before The Client finally slipped up.
Notable fish like Starrie’s from Kingsmead One fell to Darrell’s rods over the summer, with that particular specimen succumbing on a live feature with Advanced Carp Fishing magazine! When Darrell finally settled on another target, he found himself fishing in the far south of the UK, for a group of carp that are really starting to make headlines as they attain bigger and bigger weights.
Fishing at extreme range, Darrell started to put together a stack of big fish, which included a number over 40lb. When his first fifty turned up in his net not long into the campaign, nobody was surprised! What was surprising was that the fish was a new fifty for the lake, leaving Pecky a couple more to go at!
We reckon that only frozen lakes will keep Darrell from extending his remarkable run into the new year and beyond. Who knows, he might just retain the title! Well done Darrell, from all at Korda.
