Cotswold Carp Event

Next weekend, January 19th, sees the return of the popular Cotswold Carp Event, hosted at the Hoburne Cotswold and we’re going!
This year, the organisers have managed to secure under-the-radar carper, Terry Dempsey, to give the centerpiece slideshow. Previous speakers have included Simon Scott and Jason Hayward.
Entry is by ticket only, which are available online at www.baitworks.co.uk for £10, or on the door (if there are any left!) for £12.

Terry’s talk is much anticipated and comes just weeks after he launched his first book, The Urban Myth. Much of the material in his book is previously unseen, and we expect that his slide show will be along similar lines! Terry has fished at some of the truly great UK waters, including Darenth, Longfield, Johnsons, Larkfield and Wraysbury so it should make for fascinating viewing!

The slideshow apart (which is set to start at 7pm), there will be plenty to entertain you on the evening. The list of exhibitors include Korda, Trakker, Cotswold Rods, Dave Gawthorn Books and Baitworks.
There is a bar at the venue, and food will be available from 5:30pm. The event will finish at 11pm.

All proceeds go towards enhancing the fishing on the Cotswold Water Park. The previous two events have raised a combined £2,500, which has been used to stock fine quality carp into Ashton Keynes’ Coke’s Pit and Thamesmead B – securing the future of those two lakes for generations to come – a noble aim, I’m sure you’ll agree!
