Come and catch a monster at Gigantica now!

Fancy a trip to France’s top carp fishing holiday destination at short notice, where the monsters living in it have just had a break from anglers?

Well here is your chance, and we expect that Gigantica main lake is going to fish it’s head off following a two week shut down, and there are still some places available for the opening week!

Only last week it produced it’s largest resident, Fudgy’s at 86lb 8oz for Mike Standing, and since then the lake has been shut whilst weed removal has been carried out, and will re-open on March 19.

All the swims have been raked, which will have stirred up food and cleaned off some new spots that the fish aren’t used to being targeted on – plus they have been baited, so we are expecting it to fish really well when it re-opens, and some of the other big ones should put in an appearance!

Bailiff Steve Rocke confirmed: “We’ve been really busy and have removed loads of weed – the piles of it from some swims are huge!

“This has created some totally new spots, which we have been baiting, and I am expecting them to produce fish when we re-open as the fish won’t have been targeted in those areas before and had got used to seeing rigs and baits on the same areas that everyone was fishing every week.”

As well as the big ‘un, Fudgy’s, there are nine others that have been caught at over 70lb – eight mirrors and a common – plus a dozen 60s, and others are coming through all the time and piling on the weight.

The venue was created by Danny Fairbrass to offer exactly what he thought carp anglers travelling abroad should be able to experience – a hassle-free holiday in nice surroundings with everything they needed on-site, and just as important, some large and stunning carp to target!

Prior to the lake closure the fish were starting to wake up, and after a break on any heavily-fished lake, even just for a couple of weeks, it can really lull even the wariest fish into a false sense of security, so we could well see a few coming out that haven’t visited the bank for a long time.

So, if you can get yourself and your mates over to Gigantica for March 19, use the contact details below to get in touch with the booking team and take advantage of what could be one of the best-ever week's angling available on the main lake!

Even if you can’t make the re-opening, there are still plenty of places available throughout the year, so if you fancy the trip of a lifetime, either on your own or with a group of mates, then make sure you book a trip before all the places for 2016 sell out!
