Chris Paschmanns banks a stunner while filming!

Korda’s man in Germany, Christopher Paschmanns teamed up with his buddy, Bjorn Brockmann to film a canal-fishing piece for next year’s German Masterclass, and the results were spectacular!

The duo targeted a small canal in France, thanks to a tip-off from fellow Korda Europe carper, Kevin Diederen. Arriving on the canal on a Friday evening, the lads prepared several swims on different stretches before the arrival of the film crew on the Monday and fished the nights on stretches that weren’t going to feature in the film.

On the second night, Chris was lucky enough to catch one of the best lookers he’d ever caught, on a stretch they knew nothing about! In between several smaller commons Chris latched into a biggie. The fish turned out to be a 44lb zip-linear mirror! He told us, “This for me is the magic of fishing these canals. You just don't know what comes next, and we tried to get this feeling through the video.”

This was just the start of some brilliant fishing. Björn and Chris fished three different stretches, one night-fishing stretch and two day-fishing stretches, for the camera and caught thirties from all of them! In total they banked 35 fish, with around 20 in front of the camera, Chris even had to jump in to get a nice mirror out of the weed. Two absolute highlights were a 42lb mirror stalked in front of the cameras and the ending of the film with a live take of a 41lb 5oz mirror.

You’ll be able to catch the action on Korda’s German website (de. korda.co.uk) early next year, and we’ll keep you posted nearer the time!
