Chef/ Handyman/ Bailiff

This is a full time residential position in France, so it ideally suits an energetic and motivated person with no ties in the UK, who adapts to new environments and has a willingness to integrate into the local community. Professional tuition to learn French is part of the role.

Your primary role will be cooking with a second chef/bailiff for up to 24 people in a small but well-equipped kitchen that will be totally modernised this winter.

The successful candidate will require a catering background, with experience of working in a busy kitchen serving a range of meals.

The candidate will require a strong understanding of stock ordering, food GP, health and safety compliance, understanding of COSHH and ultimately able to cook very tasty food for the hungry anglers on time with impeccable standards!

Other essential daily tasks include cleaning, stock control, shopping, record keeping, bankside maintenance, fish care, photography and of course, coaching anglers to catch more fish.

This is a customer service role, so the successful candidate needs to put their customers first. Personal fishing is part of the job but only when the day’s tasks are complete.

During the summer season you will be working 7 days a week with a week’s holiday in the summer and 5 weeks holiday over the winter, so serious thought should be given to what you would do with this holiday entitlement.
