Carpfest A Success!

The first Carpfest of what we hope will be a sun-soaked summer took place over the weekend, at Linear Fisheries.

The Point area on Brasenose Two played host to carp angling’s best interactive roadshow and visitors were able to play and land carp, watch Team Korda in action, buy unique, show-special hook baits, browse the Trakker Bivvy Village, improve their casting in the Daiwa Casting Arena and check out the best new kit from Delkim, Daiwa, Cygnet and Guru.

PBs were smashed in the Thinking Tackle Live area, on the end of the peninsula, with visitors banking carp to 28lb. Dave Levy, Neil Spooner, Jake Taylor, Brad Greening and Richard Stewart kept the action coming throughout both days, working hard to ensure that most visitors got to see Brasenose carp landed. The lads were more than happy to talk spectators through the range of tactics that produced more than 40 carp over the weekend.

The event pulled crowds from as far afield as Devon and South London. Most came away with a bargain or two, having visited the Fat Fish stand, where Andy Reynolds and his team were selling the kit that the lads were ably demonstrating on the point, and a whole lot more besides. As usual, the Daiwa Casting Arena and Mainline bait-rolling demonstrations proved extremely popular, with Brian Skoyles dispensing sage advice, which helped to put yards on many angler’s best casts. Rig queries were dealt with at the Korda marquee, where the lads talked visitors through the latest presentations and cutting-edge rig bits.

Refreshments were available throughout the weekend and the cracking weather ensured that everyone had a great day out. If you missed out then fear not, because there are still two chances to catch the Carpfest Roadshow this summer. Your first opportunity comes at Longleat, near Warminster on the 14th and 15th June and the last Carpfest of 2013 takes place at Manor Farm Fishing, Biggleswade, on 27th and 28th July.

We really wouldn’t want you to miss out on what is a great chance to see top anglers in action, and a heck of a lot more besides, so make sure you pencil one of those dates into your diary and we’ll see you there!
