Carp Academy 2016 applications now open!

Applications for this year's Carp Academy are now open, with youngsters between the ages of 13 and 17 invited to join Team Korda on the bank this summer for three days of unforgettable carp angling tuition, advice and wisdom from the best anglers around.

The Carp Academy concepts sees youngsters between the ages of 13 and 17 team up a member of the Korda team for three days of tuition on all aspects of the sport at a first-class venue in the South East (to be announced in the near future), with end tackle, bait and food provided free of charge thanks to generous support from various companies.

Set up by Korda boss Danny Fairbrass to encourage the next generation of youngsters into the sport and to grow their enthusiasm for all aspects of carping, the two-day event ends with a graduation ceremony and prize presentation rewarding special achievements and effort.

The event is being filmed by a TV crew with Korda marketing chief and Big Fish Off star Ali Hamidi presenting, covering the action as it happens around the complex with catches, tactical insights and interviews from the big name anglers coaching students. Previous years have seen many PBs broken and hundreds of carp landed to well over 30lb.

Follow the Korda Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for regular updates in the lead up to the event with successful applicants being notified in early May (the closing date for applications is April 30th) with the event being scheduled to happen over the last week in July and likely commencing Tuesday 26th July.
