BYCAC Finale!

The weekend of 14th-16th August saw 17-year-old Robert Sutton become Korda British Young Carpers’ Angling Champion 2009 for a staggering second time! It is the first time a junior has won this prestigious title more than once, which is testament to the ability of this youngster. Rob, who won the event back in 2007 at Thorpe Lea, came out of the draw bag third and picked peg 18 (his number one choice). After a tense battle with 15-year-old Perry Hawkins Rob finally came out on top bagging a total of 17 carp for 170lb 1oz just 6lb 11oz more than Perry’s 163lb 6oz! Rob used a variety of different tactics to catch his carp including fishing high up in the water with Zig Rigs and on the deck with maggots and plastic corn.

1st 18 Rob Sutton 170lb 1oz
2nd 28 Perry Hawkins 163lb 6oz
